Art in Nature Summer Camp Tue 11th August - Thu 13th August
9:30am - 3:00pm
Looking for something creative, outdoorsy and joyfully different this summer? Join The Arts Factory for three days of art, nature and adventure in the gardens. Children will explore, collect, build, draw, sculpt, print and create, using the natural world as their starting point. These playful summer workshops will be full of hands-on making, garden discoveries and artist-inspired projects. We’ll be taking inspiration from nature artists and sculptors such as Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Andy Goldsworthy and Anna Atkins, while giving children the freedom to experiment and make their own imaginative artworks. Expect outdoor creativity, natural materials, sculpture, printing, drawing, mixed media, sunshine, fresh air and plenty of “look what I made!” moments. Workshops can be booked by the day, or you can book all three days at a discounted rate.
Camp notes
What children will be doing
Across the workshops, children will explore a range of outdoor art activities, including:
* Nature-inspired sculpture
* Land art using found natural materials
* Drawing and observational studies
* Cyanotype-style printmaking and sun-inspired processes
* Weaving, building and mixed-media making
* Artist-inspired creative projects
Each day will include a mix of guided teaching, imaginative exploration and plenty of time to make, experiment and play creatively.
What’s included:
All specialist art materials are provided.
Children will be supported by experienced art teachers in a warm, encouraging and creative environment. The workshops are designed to help children feel confident, inspired and proud of what they make — whether they already love art or are simply curious to try something new.
Outdoor setting and weather
These workshops are designed to make the most of being outdoors, with nature and the garden environment at the heart of the projects.
We’ll be working outside as much as possible, so children should come dressed for the weather and for creative, sometimes messy, making.
A wet weather plan will be in place, and activities will be adapted where needed so the children can still enjoy a full creative day.
