Art in Nature Summer Camps (6 - 11yrs)
Lettsom Gardens
Looking for something creative, outdoorsy and joyfully different this summer? Join The Arts Factory for three days of art, nature and adventure in the gardens. Children will explore, collect, build, draw, sculpt, print and create, using the natural world as their starting point. These playful summ …moreer workshops will be full of hands-on making, garden discoveries and artist-inspired projects. We’ll be taking inspiration from nature artists and sculptors such as Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Andy Goldsworthy and Anna Atkins, while giving children the freedom to experiment and make their own imaginative artworks. Expect outdoor creativity, natural materials, sculpture, printing, drawing, mixed media, sunshine, fresh air and plenty of “look what I made!” moments. Workshops can be booked by the day, or you can book all three days at a discounted rate. less

Teen Clay Mask Making (11 - 16yrs)
Kingswood House
**Clay Mask Making** Design and construct your own expressive clay mask while developing a range of clay-making skills, including shaping, joining, modelling, carving, scoring, adding texture and building up three-dimensional features. You’ll also explore the basic proportions and structure of t …morehe human face, learning where features such as the eyes, nose, mouth and ears are positioned before choosing how realistically—or dramatically—you want to interpret them. Once the basic mask has been formed, you’ll have complete creative freedom to invent a character of your choice. Your mask could be inspired by Greek mythology, the natural world, fantasy creatures, superheroes, folklore—or something entirely from your own imagination. Will you create a powerful Medusa, a mysterious forest spirit, a futuristic warrior, a sea creature, a comic-book villain or an ancient god? Add horns, leaves, scales, feathers, exaggerated features, symbols and patterns to bring your character to life. A brilliantly imaginative workshop for teenagers who enjoy sculpture, character design and making something bold, unusual and completely unique. less
