You’ll begin by developing an original design inspired by the things you love — from animals, trainers and music to food, nature, lettering, symbols or abstract patterns. Your image will then be divided into separate shapes, with each piece carved and inked in a different colour before being carefully fitted back together like a jigsaw. You’ll learn a range of printmaking skills, including simplifying an image, creating positive and negative shapes, safely using lino-cutting tools, mixing and applying printing inks, registering colour and building up a clear, vibrant print. Once your design is complete, you’ll print it onto paper and create your own unique cotton tote bag to take home. A fully instructed, hands-on workshop with plenty of inspiration, creative freedom and individual guidance.
